Q. If I live in the continental United States, can I order products in any way other than on line? A. Absolutely!! You can order as we have done for the past ten years. The most efficient way is by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it but you are also welcome to phone us at (804) 794-3101 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. and speak with us directly or leave a message. We will let you know that we received your message and are working on your order. When it is sent out, we will also notify you to expect its arrival at the address you gave us. Q: Do you draw each product individually by hand? A: No. I wouldn't have time to sleep if I did that. I compose the original design until I am content that it represents what the verse conveys and then have the original color copied at a local printer in quantity. Q. Is that your own handwriting on the products? A. Yes, it is. When I was growing up, my mother insisted that I could get two excellent grades on every report card--one in conduct and the other in handwriting. I'm not sure I always got an excellent grade in conduct--maybe just satisfactory at times--but I always got one in handwriting. It's amazing how that worked out, isn't it? Q. How long does it take you to create a design? A. Obviously the size and intricacy of the design will play a role. Each verse requires that I meditate on its meaning and consider how I can effectively communicate that. If the verse lends itself to illustration, I determine how much space will be required for the writing and then try different approaches for the space that remains. It would be a rare thing to hit that "just right" combination the first time. Frequently I research words within the passage or the context of the writing. Sometimes my illustrations are realistic and sometimes a whimsical representation. For instance, if you find a picture of an angel, it is more likely to be whimsical than to represent the powerful messengers and warriors that they actually are. Q. What are typical work hours for you and your husband? A. That varies somewhat. We can be contacted during our normal working hours--9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. from Monday through Friday. If you are unable to reach us during those hours by phone, please leave a message or send us a written message by email. Except in an emergency situation, we will respond to your inquiry only during normal work hours. That enables us to catch up on other responsibilities and just relax or spend time with friends. Q, What is the difference between your method and lithograph printing? A. My products are less expensive to reproduce and therefore more affordable but are likely to fade gradually over an extended period of time.Q. Do you sell variety packs of products? A. In the past I have not. However I have recently begun to prepare for a limited number of variety packs grouped by theme. Packs of 5 "thank you" note cards are now available for sale. There will soon be similar packs based on other themes. You can always purchase 5 packs of your favorite note cards and make your own variety packs. That way I am not left with odd numbers of cards in partially filled packs. Q. Do you plan to expand your product line over time? A. Absolutely. There are an endless number of Scripture verses that have powerful impact on people's lives. As I become aware of those that have already had that level of impact, I will consider each as a possibility for inclusion in the product line. I will also expand the number of categories of products so the Scriptures are available in multiple forms. Q. How about new categories? Do you plan to do work in areas you have not explored before? A. That certainly seems a likely prospect. Phil and I are aware that when God wants something done, He will put the project before you until you hear His instructions clearly. He initiates. We follow. Anything is a possibility at any time. Q. Why do you only use the New International Version of the Bible? A. This is the only version that we are authorized to use. Zondervan Publishing House allows us to use this translation of the Bible under certain specific terms and that permission has to be renewed periodically. We are most grateful to them for that permission because without it, we could only sell my illustrations and whatever I personally write. And that would defeat the purpose of this business/ministry. In addition all of the studies we participate in are currently using this translation and so this translation makes the most sense for us now. Q. Why can't I buy your products and then just reproduce them myself? A. All of my products are copyrighted, which allows me protection under the law against unauthorized reproduction of my works, which I do not grant. If I discover that any of my designs are being illegally reproduced, I will be obligated to pursue the matter legally and seek compensation. Otherwise my efforts would result in no income and Net's Art, Inc. would cease to be a viable company. Q. What is your return policy? A. If you receive your order and are not satisfied with it, you may return it and we will refund the amount of your purchase if returned within 30 days of receipt and received in sellable condition. We sincerely hope that will not be the case and that you will be completely delighted with all you order and receive. Q. Why did it take you ten years to get a website? A. Although that option was recommended almost from the beginning (1999), we found ourselves too involved in other things to pursue it until now. Our lives have been quite full in the past ten years. All kinds of life issues have arisen, one right after the other. Can you relate? Now seems to be in line with God's timing and we are trusting Him to prosper us.
