As we move into the first days and weeks of 2012, what will you plan for the days ahead?

The number 1 entry I resolve to include each month will be prayer.  I've been drifting away from that sound beginning to each day, not conferring with my Boss to see what He would reveal or delegate to me.  How foolish of me!!  I would have thought I had learned that lesson long ago but oh how quickly we forget--even the basics. 

I am in great need of your prayers for this ministry/business.  Would you speak into God's ear the words of the prayer of Jabez from 1 Chronicles 4:10 along with  whatever the Holy Spirit prompts you to add? 

The prayer of Jabez from the 1984 NIV translation says:

       "Jabez called to the God of Israel,

       'Oh, that You would bless me and enlarge my territory!  Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.'  And God granted his request."

I need God's favor.  Surely there are times when human words are simply not sufficient to meet the needs of God's people.  But when He speaks through His Word, those words are alone "living and active", productive words that address us at our deepest level and feed our hungry souls.  Let us not neglect to ask for what we need.  Surely our God will be faithful to answer our prayers according to His purposes.
